Theo Walcott has seven goals in nine games this season following his brace against Swansea City.
The England man is often praised for the timing of his runs, but on Saturday his predatory instincts came to the fore. Afterwards, Theo looked back on a job well done.

on whether the game had everything…
Not quite - it didn’t have a hat-trick from me! I was disappointed with a couple of chances at the end but when you’re down to 10 men, we had to work really hard today. It’s always difficult when you come back from international break. People come back from all parts of the world and you only get a short amount of time to actually train together before you’re at it again. But yeah, when you’ve got 10 men in the Premier League it’s not easy, but Swansea, they caused us a lot of problems but when it was 11 men it was quite even to be honest. But yeah, a very good three points in the end, definitely when you look at other results today.
on Ozil’s goal…
He’s chipping in with a few goals, and his defending [has been good] as well. The goal was fantastic, obviously it’s worked well. Alexis has spotted him yet again and he didn’t scuff it this time - it’s a great finish.
on six straight wins…
It’s a great achievement, definitely. I think we tend to actually start very poorly in the Premier League. This year we’ve obviously had a few additions and they’ve settled into the squad really well and you can see that. It’s not just the starting 11, it’s the whole squad - 25 of us that are working hard, day in and day out. I think you can tell that on the pitch [because] the passion is there. The fans were with us today, they were with us from start to finish and we’ve got to thank them for that, definitely.
on competition for places sparking improvement…
There’s always been competition for places when you’re at such a big club. It gets the best out of everyone but when you’re called upon you need to be able to make the difference and, like I say, everyone’s ready for a very tight Premier League. You can’t really call it now but all we’ve got to do is just control ourselves. That’s all we can do, keep on doing that and we’ll be fine I’m sure.
