A product of our Hale End Academy, Emile made his first-team debut at the age of 18, and began this season just shy of a century of appearances for the club. An attack-minded, creative midfielder, he was restricted to just 14 appearances last term, having been frustrated with injury, but contributed a couple of assists – both in the Premier League. The previous season he netted 11 goals in all competitions, having established himself in the first team during the second half of the 2020/21 campaign.

He joined the Hale End academy aged nine and rapidly progressed through the youth ranks, before Unai Emery handed him his debut in 2018. Emile then gained valuable experience during loan spells with Red Bull Leipzig in the Bundesliga in 2018/19 and with Huddersfield Town in the Championship in 2019/20, before returning to the Gunners and impressing in the No. 10 role.

He scored his first Premier League goal at home to West Brom in May 2021, and a few days later he struck the winner at Chelsea before reaching double figures the following season. Part of England’s U17 World Cup winning side in 2017, he made his senior international debut in a 5-0 win over Albania in November 2021 and scored his first goal days later in a 10-0 win over San Marino.
