Casey Stoney says Sunday’s win over Notts County is Arsenal Ladies’ best result of the Women’s Super League season so far.
Strikes from Danielle van de Donk and Jordan Nobbs secured a 2-0 victory for Pedro Martinez Losa’s side, who subsequently moved up to third place in the table.

Having secured back-to-back wins to kickstart the second half of the season, Stoney is now looking to build on recent form and guarantee a strong finish to the campaign.
"We need to build on it. We know what our standards are and we need to keep going"
“We were disappointed with the 0-0 against Birmingham. Not so much the result but the performance - we didn't play very well,” she told Arsenal.com.
“But we’ve gone on to beat Sunderland 5-1, and a convincing 2-0 win against a really tough Notts County team is probably, for me, the best result of the season so far.
“We need to build on it. We know what our standards are and we need to keep going.”
Stoney has operated at left back in recent weeks in the absence of Emma Mitchell, but was pleased to keep a clean sheet and extend the side’s unbeaten run to seven games.
“I’m rolling back the years,” she said. “I used to play left back for England, although I’m not predominantly left footed.
“I’ll do a job there but I’m hoping Emma will be fit to come back in pretty soon because it’s probably not my preferred position.
“As a defender, clean sheets are the main thing,” Stoney added. “They had quite a few shots on goal but we managed to keep the ball out and that’s what it’s all about.
“It takes every single player on the pitch to keep a clean sheet. I have to say I thought we defended so well from the front that it gave the players at the back a little bit less to do.”
