Pedro Martinez Losa praised Jordan Nobbs after her all-action display against Notts County on Sunday.

The England midfielder contributed with a goal and an assist during Arsenal Ladies’ 2-0 win, as she continued to make a mark on her return from an injury lay-off.

An inch-perfect long pass set Danielle van de Donk free to break the deadlock after just 10 minutes, before Nobbs added a goal of her own when she rounded off a slick passing move with a looping finish.

"She loves to play for Arsenal, loves training every day with us and she brings that energy to the team"

“We’re very happy to have her scoring goals and impacting the game,” Losa told Arsenal.com. “She loves to play for Arsenal, loves training every day with us and she brings that energy to the team.

“There’s no question about her level. She’s young and she has a lot of potential. We can’t say enough for her. She was key in the Continental Cup final last year and she performed very well in the FA Cup final too.”

Sunday’s win lifted the Gunners to third place in the Women’s Super League table and closed the gap on Chelsea to five points ahead of next weekend’s clash with the Blues.

The two sides last met in May when Danielle Carter’s goal secured a record 14th FA Cup victory for Arsenal at Wembley but, despite recent successes, Losa’s eyes remain on the Gunners’ final seven league games of the season.

“The table is a consequence of what you can do every day,” he said. “What we can do now is put in performances on the pitch like this one and play good football for our fans - that’s one of our massive objectives.

“Day by day we will grow as a team. We have a project for the future and we will be at the top of the league sooner rather than later.”
