Olivier Giroud’s sensational scorpion kick against Crystal Palace had everyone in disbelief, including Arsène Wenger, who says the France international’s strike will be talked about for years to come.
“The element of surprise is part of the art and part of the emotion,” he told the Arsenal Magazine. “The strength of emotion is linked with the unexpected as well and that’s why Giroud’s goal was absolutely sensational.
“Because nobody expected him, even when you have 100 years in the game, you don’t expect this ball to finish in the back of the net because you thought he was too far advanced.”
