Carl Jenkinson says it is “a pleasure” to watch Jack Wilshere playing regular Premier League football on loan at Bournemouth this season.
The England midfielder helped the Cherries record their first-ever win against Liverpool last weekend, playing a part in two goals during their dramatic 4-3 victory on Sunday - and Jenkinson is not surprised to see him doing so well.
“I spoke to Jack when he left and it’s great to just see him playing every week because everyone at this club knows what Jack’s capable of,” the defender told Arsenal Player.
“We all what a great player he is and it’s frustrating for us as his friends to see what he’s been through over the last few years. A player of his quality, you just want to see on the pitch.
“He’s a pleasure to watch play football and we haven’t been able to do that enough over the last few years. Just to see him fit and well and playing every single week is a great thing.
“I know he’s loving his time there and enjoying playing every week because that’s all a footballer wants at the end of the day, so I’m really happy for him. I just hope that he keeps going and stays injury free. I think if he does that, he’ll be flying again.”
