Shkodran Mustafi’s Germany were back in Confederations Cup action on Thursday night as Germany faced Mexico at the semi-final stage.

Mustafi was an unused substitute in Germany’s 4-1 win over Mexico. Captain Julian Draxler got Die Mannschaft off to the perfect start, striking twice in the first 10 minutes before Timo Werner added a third. Marco Fabian then pulled one back for Mexico with a stunning strike from 25 yards, but Amin Younes restored Germany’s three-goal cushion with a neat finish.
The final will be played in St. Petersburg on Sunday, July 2. Mustafi’s Germany will face Alexis’ Chile after La Roja beat Portugal on penalties in Wednesday’s semi-final.
