Arsenal Women

Arsenal Women WSL Academy (16s-21s)

From September 2018, the Arsenal Women WSL Academy Programme will replace our Development Squad as an integral part of our female talent pathway.

The new programme will ensure our young players continue to develop their football as well as continuing with their education to ensure that players have a dual career pathway.

The new FA initiative will provide support for players in the elite player pathway who aspire to make the step from U16s Academy/RTC football into our Arsenal Women's 1st team by bridging the gap with a new 16-21’s WSL Academy programme.

The new Academy aims to prepare girls for the next step in their football journey, and provide them with the opportunity to fulfil their potential technically, physically, psychologically & socially while ensuring they also commit to an education or work related training programme.

Players within the WSL Academy Programme will play within the FA WSL Academy League Programme with national fixtures against other WSL teams, with games taking place on Sundays and Wednesdays.

Players will to commit to 10-15 hours of weekly football contact time, receiving an extensive individualised coaching programmes, weekly S&C provision, Medical, Education, Lifestyle and Wellbeing support to help players manage the demands of maintaining a dual career.
