Arsenal Women FC FA WSL Academy is a programme to support players in the elite player pathway making the step from U16s RTC/Academy football into our Arsenal Women's 1st team, bridging the gap with a 16-21s Academy programme.
The Academy ensures that all players are able to develop their football as well as continuing with their education to ensure that players have a dual career pathway. It is aimed to prepare girls for the next step in their football journey, and provide them with the opportunity to fulfil their potential technically, physically, psychologically & socially while ensuring they also commit to an education or work related training programme.
Players within the WSL Academy Programme will play within the FA WSL Academy League Programme & FA WSL Academy Cup Competition with fixtures against other WSL teams. Games will take place on Wednesday afternoons.
Players will be required to commit to 10-15 hours of weekly contact time, while receiving an extensive individualised coaching programme, weekly S&C provision, Medical, Education, Lifestyle and Wellbeing support to help players manage the demands of maintaining a dual career.
We have a very strict recruitment policy. We only take the most gifted and talented female players, between the ages of 16 and 21 with International or under-16s RTC playing experience is a minimum requirement.
The training programme for the Arsenal WSL Academy follows an intensive schedule that includes squad training sessions, strength and conditioning sessions, as well as opportunities to train with our first team. Training takes place within high-quality learning environments and access world class facilities at the Arsenal Training Centre.
