Arsenal Women WSL Academy (16s-21s)

Arsenal Women U21s celebrate the league win

The Arsenal Women FC WSL Academy aims to support talented female footballers within an elite player pathway to make the step from U16s Regional Talent Club Academy football into our Arsenal Women's First team.

The WSL Academy ensures that all players are able to develop their football as well as continuing with their education to ensure that players have a dual career pathway. The programme prepares female players for the next step in their football journey, providing them with the opportunity to fulfil their football potential while ensuring they also commit to an education or work-related training programme.

Players within the WSL Academy programme play within the FA WSL Academy League programme & FA WSL Academy Cup Competition with fixtures against other WSL teams.

Please note that as well as our WSL Academy programme, we also provide an alternative 16-19 college education programme in association with Oaklands College.  This enables players of varying levels to also be involved in a full-time football education programme delivered by Arsenal Women FC while studying at Oaklands College. Players who are not yet considered to be at the level required to play in the WSL Academy, will be offered an opportunity to trial for our Oaklands College Women’s Football Academy Programme.

become a host family

Can you or someone you know help to provide a ‘home from home’ for a youth player?

As a club, we are seeking to recruit accommodation providers as part of our Host Family Provision for academy players.

Host families will be able to offer our players a safe, stable, and comfortable family environment as they move away from home for the first time. Other requirements are the provision of a daily breakfast, lunch and evening meal, access to laundry facilities and Wi-Fi.

Accommodating young people is subject to police Criminal Records Checks (CRC) via the Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) and additional safeguarding training with the club.

Upcoming opportunities include a host family providing accommodation for four days a week throughout the upcoming season.

This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of the young person’s journey. If you would like to be considered and are able to provide such an environment please contact Safeguarding Manager, Laura Munson at lmunson@arsenal.co.uk for a discussion about the application process.
