Sustainability Keeping it local

The north London derby creates a unique atmosphere for us all. It is the local element of this game that we love and makes it particularly important to our work on increasing sustainability at Arsenal.

You may well remember the work we did with several local businesses as we came out of lockdown to help promote our local economy. We have also recently enjoyed a Dragons’ Den type event, hosted by our friends at CBRE, which gave small and local companies the opportunity to showcase their innovative ideas and services to Arsenal.

The businesses were varied in the extreme, from an organisation that specialises in bringing lower-represented groups and ex-offenders into the construction industry to cutting-edge technologies to reduce our energy consumption and drive power generation.

It was certainly time well spent and we will be looking to engaging with our local businesses as we carry on our drive to towards lowering our environmental impact. Over recent years we’ve forged very strong links locally, not least through exciting initiatives such as Arsenal Supporting Supporters.

There are some incredible businesses on our doorstep and there are many benefits from choosing local, helping employment and therefore the local economy as well as reducing the delivery emissions being just two.
