It’s been some week for Bukayo Saka.
First he signed a new long-term contract with the club, and then he scored a superb opening goal in our 2-0 win at Wolves just a few days later.
We spoke to our teenage forward at Molineux, and this is what he told us:
on it being a fantastic few days for him...
Words can't describe how great it has been for me and for my family. I'm delighted to stay with the club that I love and get my first Premier League goal and for us to get the win as well, so I'm over the moon right now. There's still a lot of things that I need to improve on, especially in this game, I need to learn and keep improving my game and keep developing.
on extra positivity coming into the game after signing a new contract...
I always want to score goals, no matter if I've signed a new contract or not, so I just always want to give my best for the team no matter what the scenario is.
on the goal...
I anticipated where the ball was going to go when KT crossed it and I made sure I was there in front of the edge of the box. I knew that the space was on the far post and I managed to guide it. It was a good finish in the end and I'm happy to get the goal.
on the extra satisfaction of scoring a Premier League goal...
We play this competition so much. This competition is probably the one that means the most to us right now so I'm just so happy to get the goal and help my team get the win.
on the the team's momentum...
We're just taking each game by each game because we know how important every point is at this stage. We're trying to win every game we can, take each game slowly and we're just so happy to get the win because we know how much it means in terms of the table and the position we finish.
on his happiest position on the pitch…
Like I always say, it's just a dream to play for Arsenal. I'm only 18 and I came from the academy and I'm just happy that the boss is putting me out on the pitch. He's shown so much faith in me so wherever he picks me, I just have to give my all. I can't really pin him down to tell him which position I want to play. I'm still grateful to be playing.
