Interview

White impressed with spirit shown

After seeing us overcome Fulham to eventually claim a 2-1 win, Ben White admitted it was a tough game, physically and mentally.

In what was a bruising, feisty encounter at times, we came back from conceding the opening goal when Aleksandar Mitrovic pounced on an error from Gabriel, with Martin Odegaard and the Brazilian centre-back netting to keep our winning run going.

"It’s obviously always nice to get the three points here," White said. "They made it tough for us and we made it tough for ourselves with the goal, but you know, the reaction from the boys was outstanding.

"With Fulham, you always have a physical game. You know, they’ve got a big boy up top and he’s hard to handle, but the boys did well today. "

White was also full of praise for his defensive partner Gabriel, who bounced back from his personal and collective setback to win the game for his team, and White believes the support shown to him during the game from his teammates and our supporters resulted in him producing when it mattered most.

Speaking about the spirit around the whole club right now, he added: "It's outstanding. Gabi had a little hiccup and the reaction that he gave was outstanding and helped us get the win, really. I think the attitude and the desire we all have every day in training is showing on the pitch now."
