Laurent Koscielny was a towering presence at the back as we saw off Valencia in the first leg of our Europa League semi-final.
But our captain didn’t finish the game. He was replaced by Nacho Monreal with 10 minutes remaining.
It sparked concerns that Koscielny - who suffered a serious Achilles injury in last year’s semi-final - might have picked up a knock.
Unai Emery gave an update after the game.
“I hope that Koscielny is going to be okay for Sunday [against Brighton] and the second leg away, but I don’t know,” he said.
“Laurent was very tired and he ran back with the transitions in the second half 50 metres for a sprint, and it’s normal that he can be tired or struggling.
“I prefer to change him to give this 10 minutes to Nacho Monreal after his small injuries, to help us and to save minutes for Laurent Koscielny.”
