Things actually started pretty well for us at Anfield on Saturday. Ainsley Maitland-Niles gave us an early lead, scoring his first goal for the club when sliding home Alex Iwobi’s inviting centre.
But Liverpool hit back almost immediately through two Roberto Firmino goals, and never looked back thereafter.
After our defeat at on Merseyside, Stephan Lichtsteiner spoke to the press. This is what he said:
on what went wrong after our opening goal…
It was a little bit unlucky. They scored two quick goals to make it 2-1, then at 3-1, it was difficult. I think we need to forget this game and work for the next one because we have the quality to come back.
on hopes for the rest of the season…
We have to work. We’ve been doing well until now. We just need to keep working, looking forward at every game and try not to have more injuries, because it’s been a bad moment for us with injuries. It’s a challenge and one we need to accept.
on aiming for the top four…
We’ll aim for that. Until the end we’ll work, we’ll believe, we’ll never give up.
