Sam Greenwood praised our character as we advanced into the quarter-finals of the FA Youth Cup with a 4-3 victory over Brighton & Hove Albion on Thursday.
Our forward scored twice on the night and was pleased with his own performance alongside that of the team.
We spoke to Greenwood after the match and this is what he said:
on the victory…
I’m buzzing. The lads dug deep, it was a hard game towards the end but we dug deep and got there in the end.
on scoring twice…
I’m not claiming the third goal, I’ll admit I didn’t touch it. I’m buzzing to score twice but we’ve got to go again in the quarter finals. I’m really happy to have helped the team tonight.
on the quarter-finals…
I’m excited we just need to see what happens, who we’re playing and stay focused. I think if we play like we did tonight we’ll play well.
