Watford v Arsenal: The Brief

With four teams jostling for two Champions League places, the margin for error is getting smaller.

So the weekend was all about watching and waiting in hope for one of our rivals to slip up.

Chelsea obliged, losing at league leaders Liverpool. Manchester United threatened to stall, but stumbled past West Ham. And Tottenham were never in danger against relegated Huddersfield.

Now the ball’s in our court. A win over Watford will propel us back into the top four. A defeat against the buoyant FA Cup finalists would leave us in sixth, and take our destiny out of our hands.
