For long periods, it looked as though Antonio Rudiger's early header would consign us to defeat but, with seconds remaining, Alexandre Lacazette converted Reiss Nelson's inviting low cross to force a shoot-out.

The first 10 penalties were scored before Petr Cech kept out Ruben Loftus-Cheek, leaving Alex Iwobi to stroke home the winning spot-kick.
