Making the move from the Midlands to north London as a teenager might faze some players - but not Lino Sousa.
The powerful left back signed professional terms with us on Friday, and is already loving life in our academy.
This is what he told Arsenal Media:
on how he’s settled in…
I feel good. The players have made me feel welcome and I’ve been with the under-18s and under-23s as well, so it’s all good and they’re a good bunch of lads.
on already making his debut for the under-18s…
It was a good feeling! It’s been a while since I’ve played and to just be back out there was a joy, and to get the 4-0 win over Chelsea was even better.
on whether he’s excited to play with any of our youngsters…
Yeah, there’s a few tricky players to be fair! I’m going to say Omari, I’ve played against Omari before. Brooke as well, he’s a good right back, and there’s a lot of good players to be fair, so I’m just excited to be here and just join that team.
on his style of play…
I’m a hard-working person. I’m honest, I would say, I like to get forward a lot, I like to defend and run, and just enjoy myself and express myself on the pitch. Hopefully the fans will be able to see that.
