Saliba's France reach World Cup final

William Saliba warms up ahead of a World Cup game

William Saliba's France have reached the 2022 World Cup final, after beating Morocco 2-0 in the last four.

Our centre-back was on the bench during the contest, which saw Theo Hernandez give Les Bleus' an early lead, which was doubled in the second half by Kolo Muani.

That was enough to see Didier Deschamps' side reach a fourth final in the past seven tournaments, as they aim to become the first nation since Brazil in 1962 to retain the trophy.

A Lionel Messi-inspired Argentina stands between them achieving that, who knocked out Croatia in the other semi-final on Tuesday. The final will take place on Sunday, December 18 at the Lusail Iconic Stadium in Doha, as the tournament comes to a close.

William has made one appearance so far in Qatar, coming on as a substitute during France's final group stage game against Tunisia, which was his eighth cap for his country since making his full debut back in March.
