William Saliba was part of another defensive masterclass against Manchester City on Sunday, but said the team wanted more than just a point.
We became the first team to stop Manchester City scoring at home in the Premier League for 58 matches, recording our second successive shut out against the Champions this season. But afterwards Saliba said the team were not completely happy with the result.
“It was a tough game against a big team, we are not satisfied 100 per cent, but it’s okay, we take the point,” he said at full-time. “We know it’s not easy to come here and not concede and we did well.
“Of course we can be proud of stopping them scoring but it’s not finished, there is nine games still and we have to win it.”
The result keeps us ahead of City, two points behind Liverpool, and with the best defensive record in the division.
“We are so good this season defensively,” Saliba added. “It’s not only the defenders, it’s all the team, so we can be proud of this and we have to keep going and focus on the next game. We are already focused on the next game.
“We don’t have the choice. We have to be ready.”
