Lotte Wubben-Moy shared some exciting news on Friday morning.
Not only has she signed a new contract with the club, but she's also made a commitment to work actively with Arsenal in the Community to inspire and support girls and young women in the local area.
Over the coming years, Lotte and Arsenal in the Community will work together to develop a programme which uses the power of football to help girls and young women to build self-confidence, develop communication skills and try new activities.
A passionate believer in the importance of creative pursuits like art and writing, and an advocate for sustainability and the environment, Lotte will participate in regular sessions spanning these fields at the Arsenal Community Hub near Emirates Stadium.
“Growing up in Hackney, in East London, I’ve been part of the areas – the communities – where Arsenal in the Community have been so active,” said Lotte. “To then be able to use this moment to commit to a future not only on the pitch but off the pitch too, in collaboration with Arsenal, I think is so important.”
"With Arsenal in the Community I know that I can’t change the country and I can’t change the world, but I can change the community where I have been a part of and I have been active. I know that with Arsenal in the Community, their help, their support, their staff, I can bring change about in my community. This is a full circle moment for me."
“Everyone at Arsenal in the Community is so excited that Lotte has committed to working closely with us moving forward,” said Freddie Hudson, Head of Community at Arsenal. “As someone who has grown up in the local area, she is the perfect role model for the girls and young women we work with. We know Lotte will bring her passion and authenticity to this collaboration and we can’t wait to bring it to life.”
