Our pre-season finally got underway on Thursday, when we beat Sydney FC 2-0 at ANZ Stadium.
It took Per Mertesacker less than four minutes to give us the lead with an improvised overhead kick, before new signing Alexandre Lacazette capped an encouraging debut by sliding home a second late on.
