Odegaard - That was a really big moment for me

As first goals for the club go, not many will top Martin Odegaard’s strike against Olympiacos in Athens.

The Norwegian international picked the ball up 25 yards from goal and struck a venomous shot into the roof of the net to open his account for us - and the man himself was delighted.

“It was a great moment,” Odegaard told “I was eager to get on the scoresheet and I didn't get any goals yet, so it was a good moment for me and also a crucial moment in the game to get a goal away from home and take the lead into half-time. It was a big moment for me personally and also for the team.

“I think we did really good, except for the goal we conceded I thought we were solid all the way. We dominated the game, we created a lot of chances but we gave away some easy balls. That we have to work on, but otherwise, I think it was a great game and a well-deserved 3-1 win.

“I think it shows the character in the team and the team spirit we have now. Players are coming on from the bench, changing games and scoring goals and I think it shows the team spirit and it shows the quality that we have in the team. Everyone is ready to participate and it was a big team win.”
