Arsenal Football Club is pleased to confirm that its youth games will be played at Meadow Park from the start of the 2013/14 season.
Boreham Wood FC’s ground, which is already the long-term home of the Arsenal Ladies, will host a majority of the Gunners’ under-21, FA Youth Cup and European youth fixtures from next term.
"The facilities on offer for both players and supporters are top drawer and I know Boreham Wood FC will be excellent hosts"
The Club's academy sides had previously enjoyed a long and successful spell at Barnet FC’s Underhill Stadium, which came to an end last season with the Bees’ move to The Hive.
Arsenal will now build on an already excellent relationship with Boreham Wood FC by making the Hertfordshire-based club the new home for the Club’s youth sides.
Meadow Park combines an award-winning surface with excellent supporter facilities. In addition to the ground’s current 500-seat East Stand, a new 700-seat West Stand is due to be completed by the end of 2013.
Arsenal club secretary David Miles, said: “In Meadow Park, we have found an ideal new home for our youth sides. The facilities on offer for both players and supporters are top drawer and I know Boreham Wood FC will be excellent hosts. I would like to take this opportunity to thank Barnet FC for their many years of assistance with our youth sides.”
Arsenal’s first youth fixture at Boreham Wood FC will be against Manchester United on Tuesday, August 13 in the Under-21 Premier League.
Admittance to all under-21 and European youth fixtures at Boreham Wood FC will be free of charge.
