Arsene Wenger says the quality of a team’s attack can always combat a defensive side that “parks the bus”.
Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho complained on Wednesday about West Ham United’s tactics in their goalless draw at Stamford Bridge.
But Wenger believes the responsibility lies with the players to break down a side intent on defending.
"No matter what problem you face, you have to be strong enough to sort it out. That is how I approach our game"
“When Chelsea came to us and played a 0-0, we did not manage to score,” he said. “It is our responsibility to score and you accept that.
“No matter what problem you face, you have to be strong enough to sort it out. That is how I approach our game.
“When you don't win it is sometimes because of the quality of your opponent, sometimes because of bad luck, sometimes because of the referee’s decision, but you have to cope with that.
“I always believe it is the quality of your game that can make the difference. You have to continue to believe in the way you want to play and not give up what you have planned before the game and stick with that.
“At some stage the quality will help you to make the difference.”
