Wenger - Our belief stems from the back

Arsene Wenger believes his side’s recent defensive stability has provided the platform for their ever-increasing confidence.

Arsenal have conceded just three goals in their last seven games, six of which they have gone on to win.

Wenger is impressed with the improvement at the back and feels the defensive assurance shown by his team has laid the foundations for attacking with freedom.

“That's where we've improved the most,” he told Arsenal Player. “It's very important for the confidence of the team that we have such a [defensive] stability.

“As I said many times, we are an offensive team, but you are only a good offensive team if you have a good defensive stability. In the last two months that was much better.”
