Aaron Ramsey says Arsenal can take much pride from their gallant 2-0 Champions League victory over Bayern Munich on Wednesday night.
Goals from Olivier Giroud and Laurent Koscielny secured an impressive win in Germany, though Arsene Wenger’s side were knocked out on the away goals rule.
After being widely written off prior to the game, Arsenal came close to advancing and Ramsey is hoping the result can inject momentum into their Premier League campaign.
"We have a lot of good quality players in the team and we showed that tonight"
“It was always going to be difficult from the first game,” he said. “We gave ourselves a tough job to do but we came here with no pressure and managed to put in a really good performance.
“We came close and at the end of the two legs, we drew 3-3. It’s not an easy place to come and win 2-0, so we can take a lot of positives from the result. We’re disappointed we’re out of this competition.
“We have a lot of good quality players in the team and we showed that tonight. We just need a bit more belief. Consistency has been a factor over the season. When we do play well, we can give any team a run for their money and we did that tonight.
“We just have to go into every game focused and try and win every game that we play until the end of the season to try and get back into the Champions League.”
