Joel Campbell came on for 30 minutes in Olmpiacos' defeat at home to PSG. Edinson Cavani put the visitors in front after 20 minutes only for Vladimir Weiss to equalise for the Greek champions five minutes later. But a second-half brace from Thiago Motta and a late goal from Marquinhos sealed the win for the French side.

Ignasi Miquel was again an unused substitute as Leicester continued their good start to the season with a 2-1 win over Blackburn. Lloyd Dyer put the home side in front after 16 minutes before David Nugent doubled their advantage from the spot just before half-time. Jordan Rhodes pulled one back for the visitors with another penalty 20 minutes from time, but it wasn't enough to stop the Foxes from climbing to second in the Championship.

Francis Coquelin was a last-minute substitute in Freiburg's opening Europa League game against Slovan Liberec. Julian Schuster put the hosts in front from the spot before Admir Mehmedi doubled their advantage 10 minutes before half-time. But second-half goals from Vladislav Kalitvintsev and Michael Rabusic earned a point for the Czech side.
