Chuks Aneke's scored a stunning goal to help Crewe Alexandra beat Carlisle United. The midfielder lifted a first-time shot into the roof of the net to give Crewe the lead on 53 minutes before Mesca doubled their advantage 11 minutes later. Thomas Lawrence pulled a goal back for Carlisle in the 77th minute but Crewe held on for the win.

Ignasi Miquel played 90 minutes as Leicester stayed top of the Championship with a 3-1 win away at Millwall. Anthony Knockaert put the Foxes in front in the sixth minute before David Nugent made it 2-0 three minutes after the break. Richard Chaplow pulled a goal back for the Lions in the 68th minute but a Jeffrey Schlupp goal in stoppage time sealed the three points for the visitors.
