Olivier Giroud believes it is important for strikers to maintain their ruthless mentaility at all times.
The France international netted a brace in his first outing of the season on Sunday as Arsenal beat the Indonesia Dream Team 7-0 in Jakarta.
"It's always good for a striker to score really early. I'm happy with it and I felt the team did very well in the game"
Giroud scored just two minutes after coming on at Gelora Bung Karno Stadium and was pleased to open his account for the 2013/14 campaign at the first available chance.
“I'm happy to play again,” he told Arsenal Player. “It's always good for a striker to score really early. I'm happy with it and I felt the team did very well in the game. We will go ahead and improve. It's a good result for us.
“It's a friendly game but when you can 'kill' the 'keeper, you have to do it when you are a striker. You have to have the striker spirit.”
Giroud is making his first trip to the Far East and has been blown away by the reception the Arsenal players have received from the Club’s fans.
“It's the first time I've seen that," he said. "It's amazing, it’s incredible! It's the first time for me in Asia and it's nice to come here for them because they really support the team in an incredible way.”
