June 18, 1979 was the day Paul Davis signed professional terms at Arsenal.
The cultured midfielder made his debut in a north London derby win at Tottenham and his vision and range of passing was a feature of Arsenal's team for more than a decade.
Davis won his first trophy in 1987 - the League Cup - but missed a significant chunk of the 1988/89 title season through injury. He was a mainstay of the 1991 championship team and a key member of the side that won the European Cup Winners' Cup in 1994.
Davis maintained his association with Arsenal with spells as a coach at the academy and a co-commentator on our Matchday Show.
