Freddie Ljungberg is sure that Arsenal will receive an “overwhelming” reception on this summer’s Asia Tour.
As part of his new ambassador role with the Club, Ljungberg has spent time in Indonesia, Vietnam and Japan ahead of the first team’s visit in July.
The former Gunner says he was taken aback by the number of supporters that greeted him and is pleased that they will have the chance to see Arsene Wenger’s squad in the flesh.
"There's been loads of fans at airports and when you are on the streets or go for dinner, there's quite a stir"
“It's overwhelming,” Ljungberg told Arsenal Player. “There's been loads of fans at airports and when you are on the streets or go for dinner, there's quite a stir. They are very friendly so I think for the game it's going to be amazing.
“I was in Asia a bit before and did some commercials in Asia so I knew a little bit [about Arsenal’s following] but maybe not that it's this much.
“They [the fans] are extremely passionate. They have so many fans and I think the Club wants to give them a little bit back for the support they've been showing by coming here and getting a bit more close to the team and interact a bit more with the people in different countries.”
