A David Alaba brace inspired Bayern Munich to an emphatic victory over Schalke. The Austrian defender gave Jupp Heynckes’ side the lead from the penalty spot before Bastian Schweinsteiger increased the lead just after the half hour. Alaba netted his second five minutes after the break before Mario Gomez rounded off the win after 63 minutes. Bayern are now 15 points clear at the top of the Bundesliga.
