Arsenal executives have travelled to Vietnam to discuss the possibility of playing a pre-season match in the region in July.

Chief commercial officer Tom Fox and marketing director Angus Kinnear are currently in Hanoi having discussions with the Vietnam Football Federation and relevant organisers to explore the possibilities of the Arsenal first team travelling to Vietnam as part of the Club’s Asia Tour 2013.

Tom Fox said: “Arsenal Football Club has so many loyal supporters all across Asia and we are delighted to be here in Vietnam discussing the possibility of playing a match in Hanoi in July.

"Initial negotiations have gone very well and we are hoping to announce developments on our pre-season tour activities in the near future"

"Initial negotiations have gone very well and we are hoping to announce developments on our pre-season tour activities in the near future. The Club and the players have hugely enjoyed successful pre-season visits to Asia in the past two years, and we are all looking forward to bringing the team to this region again this year.”

The Club has already confirmed it will be playing a pre-season match in Jakarta, Indonesia in July, as part of an Asia Tour this summer, but final details of the tour itinerary are yet to be finalised.

Arsenal has staged pre-season tours to Asia for the past two years, visiting Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia and Hangzhou, China in 2011, and playing matches in Kuala Lumpur, Beijing and Hong Kong last summer.

Further details on Arsenal’s pre-season tour activities will be communicated via Arsenal.com in due course.
