Napoli manager Rafael Benitez believes bringing in Pepe Reina on loan from Liverpool has provided a big boost to his squad ahead of the new season.
It has been a summer of change for the Italian side after the sale of Edison Cavani allowed the former Chelsea and Liverpool boss to buy Gonzalo Higuain, Jose Callejon, Raul Albiol and Dries Mertens.
"It was a really big boost for us to get Pepe Reina because he is a world-class goalkeeper"
Benitez is new to the club too and is happy to have sealed the Spanish keeper’s signature.
“It was a really big boost for us to get Pepe Reina because he is a world-class goalkeeper,” he said. “It was surprise for us when he became available so we were pleased to get him.
“The game against Arsenal will be a difficult one but we want to win by playing good football and finding the right balance between attack and defence. The main thing for us is to improve in pre-season game by game.
“I’m happy to be back in England having won with Liverpool and having won with Chelsea but I’m happy to be here with a very strong team who can win games.”
