This weekend marks one month to go until the return of the Club’s charity fun-run, Be a Gunner. Be a Runner, in support of The Arsenal Foundation.
The 2013 event on Saturday, March 23 at Emirates Stadium is shaping up to be another fantastic occasion with hundreds of Arsenal fans and keen runners young and old already signed up to take part in the annual fundraiser.
Entry to the race remains OPEN and adults (aged 15 and over) can sign up now using the official race entry form.
All runners are encouraged to raise sponsorship, with money raised from the event going towards The Arsenal Foundation, the Club’s charitable arm that aims to transform the lives of young people through a range of education and sport initiatives in the UK and overseas, including those of the Club’s global charity partner Save the Children.
In addition to the run itself, runners will be able to sample the race-day atmosphere which is set to include an energetic warm-up and appearances from some special guests, as well as enjoying a number of race-day offers including retail discounts and massages provided by Sports Therapy students from London Metropolitan University.
Youngsters aged 14 or under can also take part in a shorter one or two lap junior race on the day and can sign up here.
Like the 2012 edition, this year’s event is also set to have a real international flavour with individuals and groups from 25 countries already signed up to take part in their own independently-organised versions of the 6.4km run overseas.
A combination of official Arsenal Supporters' Club groups and individual Gunners fans are set to take on the challenge across a variety of locations around the world, ranging from the Temple of Heaven in Beijing and a local park in Toronto, to Orange County in California and even the Central Coast of Australia.
Non UK-based supporters can find out more details on how to get involved by e-mailing bagbar2013@arsenal.co.uk. All successful applicants will receive a unique race number to wear with pride on the day and can also request official race T-shirts in return for a donation to The Arsenal Foundation.
