Internationals: Ramsey, Elneny feature

Aaron Ramsey celebrates scoring for Wales against Serbia

Aaron Ramsey crowned an impressive performance with a goal in Wales’ World Cup qualifier draw against Serbia in Belgrade.

Ramsey gave the visitors the lead after 35 minutes, nonchalantly scoring with a Panenka penalty after Sam Vokes had been fouled in the area.

Chris Coleman’s side held on to their lead until the 73rd minute, when Aleksandar Mitrovic finished clinically from close range after neat build-up play.

Our No 8 could have won it for Wales in the closing stages, but saw his near-post effort well kept out by Vladimir Stojkovic.

The result sees Wales stay third in Group D, four points behind Serbia and the Republic of Ireland with four games to play.

Mohamed Elneny started for Egypt as they were beaten 1-0 by Tunisia in this Africa Cup of Nations qualifier.

Taha Yassine scored the only goal just after half-time, finishing from close range after being freed by Youssef Msakni.

The hosts had hit the post early on through Seyam Ben Youssef, with Abdallah El-Said chipping Egypt’s best chance just off target.
