Emma Byrne leaves Arsenal Ladies

Emma Byrne has left Arsenal Ladies, having come to the end of her contract.

The Irish stopper joined Arsenal Ladies seventeen years ago.

She has helped us to 11 league titles, ten FA Cups, five League Cups, and one Uefa Women’s Cup, since her arrival in 2000.

Emma joined in a historic season as Arsenal Ladies won a treble in her debut season in 2000/01, and among other triumphs, she played a key part in the Ladies’ 2006/07 quadruple-winning campaign.

She has not only had a very successful career at Arsenal Ladies, she has also represented the Republic of Ireland as their number one keeper throughout her career. She has 125 senior caps, and she also won the FAI International Player of the Year in 2012.

Everyone at Arsenal would like to thank Emma for her commitment and contribution to the club, and to wish her the very best for her future.
