Elneny set for Africa Cup of Nations

Mohamed Elneny is heading for the Africa Cup of Nations.

The Egypt international will represent his country at the 2017 tournament in Gabon, where The Pharaohs will take on Mali, Uganda and Ghana in the group stage.

But when will Mohamed be leaving for Africa?

"He’s going to the Africa Cup of Nations on January 2," revealed Arsene Wenger.

"He will be in the squad against Crystal Palace on New Year’s Day but after he will leave us to play for Egypt."

Egypt, seven-times winners of the Africa Cup of Nations, kick off their campaign against Mali on January 17.

They face Uganda on January 21 and conclude their group games against Ghana on January 25.

The Africa Cup of Nations final takes place on February 5 - a day after our Premier League game at Chelsea.

At the very least, Mohamed will miss our games against Bournemouth, Preston, Swansea City and Burnley.
