“He’s an outstanding player and he’s been having a fantastic season so far,” the goalkeeper told Arsenal Player. “He’s not only about speed, it’s obviously about the understanding he has with other people in the team.
“You can use him as well as a fake winger, because with his speed and ability to go forward at the right time, it’s a big asset in our game.
“When you have a right-back who can attack and still has the legs to come back, then you can use him with a lot of freedom. You want people to do their jobs properly and he defends well and is a big threat going forward.
“Obviously we are pleased that he has signed the new contract because you want to keep your outstanding players.
“He can compete to be one of the best right backs in the world, because he has all these abilities. If he keeps working in the same way he’s been working, there is still room for improvement in his game with a bit more experience and more games under his belt. He can go really far.”
