Arsene Wenger lauded his side’s will to win after they staged a late assault to score in the final seconds of Sunday's clash with Burnley.

It looked as if Arsenal would have to settle for a point, until Laurent Koscielny got the final touch as the ball was bundled over the line after a corner.

“It’s fantastic because we got three unexpected points in the end. I have to give the credit to my side because we kept going,” Wenger told Arsenal Player.

“We were a bit jaded physically and mentally as well, but we absolutely wanted to win the game.

“In the end it was maybe a bit of a fortunate goal, and the surprising thing from that is that we could have maybe lost the game on a set-piece. Instead, we won it on a set-piece and that is not our strongest attribute at the moment in the side.

“[Burnley] made us suffer right until the last second. It shows that the squad is mature and that we can be patient when we need to be, to keep going and score a goal.

"We didn’t concede against Chelsea, we didn’t concede against Basel, and we didn’t concede here. The defenders deserve double the credit because, not only did they not concede, they also scored a goal.”
