Serge Gnabry joins Werder Bremen

Serge Gnabry in pre-season training

Serge Gnabry has joined Werder Bremen in a permanent deal for an undisclosed fee.

The 21-year-old forward has just returned from the Rio Olympics with a silver medal, where he was also joint-top scorer with six goals for Germany during the tournament.

After an impressive 2013/14 campaign, where Serge made 14 first-team appearances and netted his first goal for the club in a 2-1 victory at Swansea City, he went on loan to West Bromwich Albion for part of the 2015/16 season.

Serge joined us from VfB Stuttgart in 2011 and made a total of 18 first-team appearances during his time at Arsenal.

We all thank Serge for his contribution to the club and wish him well with Werder Bremen.

The transfer is subject to the completion of regulatory processes.
