Arsene Wenger says it is an “eye-opener” for players to discover how well supported the club is during Arsenal’s pre-season trips.
The Gunners will play in their fourth country in a little over three weeks when they face Manchester City in Gothenburg on Sunday, and Wenger revealed his players have been pleasantly surprised by the overwhelming support from Arsenal’s overseas fans.

“What is good in pre-season for me is that our players discover a little bit about how popular the club is,” the manager told Arsenal Player.
“They also discover how big the club is as well because we have just been in the States for two games too. They were two games full of red-and-white shirts and then we come to Norway and it’s full of red-and-white shirts too.
“It’s an eye-opener for the players. It might even be a bit scary for them because they discover how much everybody wants us to win!”
