Danny Welbeck scored the opening goal as Arsenal beat Everton to keep their title hopes alive. Here’s Danny’s reaction to the game:
on it being a mood changer…
It has been a difficult couple of weeks. The results have been bad so it is good to get back to winning ways and it is something we can build on.
on the first goal…
It makes a big difference. Going one goal up and them a goal down. It was good for us and it set the standard for the game.
on the title race…
The most important thing for us is to worry about ourselves. That is the only thing we can do and not look too much at other team’s results. We need to focus on ourselves and do what we can do.
on his goal…
It is satisfying for the team. After the couple of weeks we have had it is good to get back to winning ways. It is a difficult place to come and but getting the three points today was good for us.
on if he could have scored more…
There were certain things we could have done better in certain situations, but you have to think about getting the three points and today we did our job.
on the tone…
I think it set the tone for the rest of the game. Coming in at half-time, we were confident but we knew they would come back out and try something different. I think the game plan was good and hopefully we can build on the standards we set.
on a tough week…
As you can see with the results, we have been unhappy with the situation. It is not a happy thing to be a part of. The Premier League is only thing we have got left so we will need to give it our all and try to get the points.
