Arsene Wenger says Spanish footballers are a “pleasure to work with”.
The manager currently has four Spaniards in his first-team squad, including senior internationals Nacho Monreal and Santi Cazorla.
Spain Under-21s defender Hector Bellerin has also impressed in an Arsenal shirt and Wenger had plenty of praise for the 20-year-old ahead of Wednesday’s Champions League tie against his former club.
“He is from Barcelona,” the manager said. “He came to us at a very young age. He has a good mentality and with Spanish players, I must give credit when I say Spanish players love the ball.
“They have a great team attitude, respect for the game and they are a pleasure to work with. I don’t know how Spain manages to do that with their players but they do that very well.”
