Steve Gatting says Arsenal Under-18s fully deserved their 2-1 win against Liverpool in the FA Youth Cup.
The Gunners booked a semi-final clash against Manchester City after goals from Stephy Mavididi and Kaylen Hinds wrapped up the victory.
"It’s good for the lads that played well. We are through to the next round against Manchester City - while we are in the competition, the boys are confident"
Gatting says his side were worthy winners at Emirates Stadium but wants them to be more clinical.
“I thought we deserved to win it,” he told Arsenal.com. “As the game went on, perhaps we didn’t make the right decisions in the final third often enough because we had some good opportunities and we didn’t take them.
“The defence defended well, especially our centre backs. At times we played some really good football and at times we were a bit disappointing. But that is how some young boys play, they are a bit inconsistent but overall I think they were worthy winners.
