Arsene Wenger has hailed Pep Guardiola’s positive football philosophy.
Arsenal host the ex-Barcelona manager’s Bayern Munich in the Champions League on Tuesday and Wenger is a big admirer of his opposite number.
“He has done a magnificent job at Barcelona and now he does very well at Bayern as well,” he said.
“He is a very good manager, he has a positive philosophy and he gets his teams to play and you respect that highly as it is not easy. When it does not work you are quickly criticised so I encourage every manager who has this kind of philosophy.
“He has done excellent work wherever he has been. He has a strong personality and lets his team play with a positive outlook. That’s why I think it’s important for Bayern - who are the best team in Germany - to have a manager who plays offensive football.
