Jordan Nobbs spoke to the media after Arsenal Ladies' 1-0 win against Manchester City in the Continental Cup quarter-final on Thursday.
You can read a full transcription of the interview below:
on being in the semi-final…
We are a bit disappointed with the league results this week so I think one thing we want to do is win the Continental Cup trophy. I think it is one of the best performances we put in this season and a great finish from Natalia too.
on Arsenal’s performance…
I think we deserved a win. City are one of the best in the league and they are a tough team to play against. When we are put in a battle our talent shows and I think Natalia’s goal topped it off.
on if it was revenge for last year’s final defeat…
Whoever we played this year we wanted to get in the final. I think it is irrelevant but Manchester City is one of the toughest games we could have gone up against so it was a good performance.
on winning the tournament…
We have every chance of winning it. If we put in a performance like that every game I don’t see why we can’t beat any team in this league we just need to make sure we do it on the day.
on Natalia’s volley…
It is typical Natalia to be honest. I think that is the reason we signed is because she picks goals out of nothing and that is exactly what she did today. There are not many players in the league that can touch and hit the ball like that and I think it is good to get her confidence going as well for the next game.
on Natalia’s experience and talent for the side…
She has the experience and talent for us to score goals. I think as well we have young players on the pitch and Natalia is one of the older players that hopefully can advise us and push us through but we needed her on the pitch to get that goal.
on her own personal performance…
I’m just so happy to be back on the pitch. It is good just to put on a Arsenal shirt and put in a good performance. I wish there was a few more games to be honest but I’m glad to have won this and been a part of that win in the Continental Cup.
