Arsenal Ladies’ Continental Cup quarter-final against Manchester City Women has been postponed.
The FA have released the following statement:
Manchester City Women FC has been charged with fielding an ineligible player in The FA WSL Continental Tyres Cup.
It is alleged that the player was not registered with the FA WSL, in its match against Sunderland on Saturday, August 15.
It is therefore alleged that the club is in breach of League Cup Rule 5 (Competition Rule 26.5) for fielding an ineligible player.
The club has until Thursday, September 17 to respond to the charge.
As a result, this weekend’s FA WSL Continental Tyres Cup Quarter-Final fixture between Arsenal and Manchester City (Sunday, September 13) has been postponed.
All online tickets purchased for this Sunday’s match will be valid for the re-scheduled Continental Cup quarter-final fixture, once a date has been re-arranged.
