Oliver on victory, belief and youngsters

Taome Oliver faced the media after Arsenal Ladies’ 3-1 win against London Bees in the Continental Cup. You can read a full transcript of the interview below:

on how the performance went…
I think the team did really well. We played well together. I think changing the formation in the second half worked well for us and it gave us more attacking options going forward.

on pushing on from the win…
We are hoping to get good performances in the Continental Cup and in the league. We are looking to push on and win both competitions.

on whether they believed they could win at half-time…
Yeah of course. We turned it around against Notts and we know we have the capabilities within the team, so definitely.

on whether it was a relief to go ahead…
Yeah definitely. Being behind you’re always a bit anxious, but as soon as we went ahead we were looking to push on and get more. We knew we were capable of it from the start.

on being impressed by the younger players…
Yeah definitely. I mean being 16 and getting your Arsenal debut is massive for them. I remember playing when I was just nearly 18 and I thought that was young and I thought they did really really well and to last 90 minutes at this standard is amazing.
