The first full day in Singapore started with a training session in the 30+ degree heat. The whole squad was involved as work got underway in earnest ahead of Wednesday's Barclays Asia Trophy match against the Singapore Select XI.

Upon returning to the team hotel, some players couldn't resist an impromptu dip in the pool to cool down, while Jack Wilshere took time out to meet members of the Muscular Dystrophy Association of Singapore.

After lunch the squad was split into three main groups for a series of activities around the city. Aaron Ramsey, Theo Walcott, Laurent Koscielny and Francis Coquelin are poised to become Singapore TV stars after appearing on The 5 Show. The quartet were at Fullerton Bay Hotel for an enjoyable Emirates event. Fans in Singapore can watch   the players this Friday at 8pm.

Meanwhile the younger members of the tour squad took the opportunity to demonstrate their haggling skills as they took a trip to the Little India market. Alex Iwobi, Chris Willock, Chuba Akpom, Emi Martinez, Gedion Zelalem, Dan Crowley and Jon Toral turned heads as they searched for bargains in the busy shopping arcade, then cooled down with some fresh coconut before visiting an ornate local temple.

Across town Arsรจne Wenger and Per Mertesacker fulfilled media duties at the Grand Hyatt Hotel, where fellow BAT participants Stoke City and Everton are both based.

It was soon time for more training, this time in front of fervent local support, in the Singapore National Stadium. Mesut Ozil looked particularly sharp, scoring in the match which ended the session, while Petr Cech was also in superb form, denying Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain with a fine low one-handed save.

The day ended in spectacular style as 10 players helped launch the new PUMA away kit in front of the stunning backdrop of the Marina Bay Sands Hotel. Once again the local fans were out in force to get the first glimpse of the new gold kit, with some supporters meeting the players on stage, and taking part in a quiz.
